I work as an assistant of a Member of Parliament at the German Bundestag. I’ve been lucky to receive excellent education abroad and had international experience that unbound me from the stereotypes that are often entrenched in my native country. I believe that real support throughout education means much more than good grades and that educating and emancipating women and girls in the Balkans equals educating the whole society. I received very strong support from my family, especially from my father, who has always encouraged me in everything I did, regardless if society perceived my interests as “girly” or “boyish”. I would like to support other women and girls who did not have the privilege to receive the support and empowerment that I have received.
